"To cut out debt, why don't they start with cutting salaries of Congressmen and Senators and quit giving them raises. We on SS don't get any raises and we have to make our money stretch, why not them also? If they had a housewife make out their budget they would have no problems. We have to make do with what we have. We need money here, not sent overseas, in Hire an economist in every office and cut expenses there. I'm sure they could. If all bids come in too high, scratch them all and start over on projects. Thank you" Quotes from another telldc.com Member

Rand's plan actually REDUCES spending when compared to LAST YEAR. Sure, Ryan's plan is better than Obama's plan, but is that really any kind of standard to compare it to? In the words of George Washington, We must rise a higher standard!

You need to watch more Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano. Rand Paul explained it very clearly - he voted NO because the Ryan budget was still a BIG INCREASE in government spending! The only way the Ryan budget looks appealing is when you place it next to the gross Obama budget. Sort of like putting a Cow next to a Pig and saying, wow that sure is a clean cow. If you've ever walked behind a cow, you'd know how ridiculous that is.

Thank you for voting against Paul Ryan's budget. The only budget that this congress can truly influence is the immediate year -- future years are under the control of future congresses. I noticed that Paul Ryan's budget goes right ahead and increases spending for the only budget that this congress can control. Shame on him.

I would like to know your reason for voting against Paul Ryans bill? So far I have liked your positions on past issues once I heard the explanation. Not being a politician I often do not think like they do and would fall for the deceptive BS they feed us.

You ARE a "Tea Party" Senator, Are you being threatened Or PAID to change your stance on where you stand WITH the American PEOPLE?? Is that why your vote went with Democrats against Ryan's Budget plan. Suuuurre sounds like it!
If you have Moral ground, then you'll KNOW NOT to Waiver where you stand. You're either Hot or Cold. There is NO LUKE WARM.

Rand Paul is standing his ground even though he knew that his position would be misunderstood. The other so-called "Tea Party" politicians mostly caved to Paul Ryan's budget -- a budget that increases spending immediately in the only budget that the current congress controls. Paul Ryan's budget promises big cuts in future years, but those budgets are under the control of future congresses. Rand knows that and stood his ground for an immediate decrease in the budget that this congress actually controls.

Trust Rand Paul, but was surpriised at his vote on the Ryan budget proposal. Would like to know what specific items led to this negative vote.

Paul Ryan's budget increases spending now with meaningless promises to cut spending in the future years. Unfortunately, we need to cut spending in the only budget that the current congress controls: this year's budget.
