Fiscal Responsibility

Thank you for calling for open and active engagement of the American people in the debt negotiation process. You said on Face the Nation that you have been calling for the opening of this debate to "the people", and don't support the secret process that's now going on.

Senator, there's only one problem I feel with these comments you are making on television, how are you listening to me? What is it you are asking me to comment or agree on?

Senator, I look forward to you taking part in the discussions here at TellDC.com. I have seen the gap between elected officials and the people of the State of Alabama grow wider and it's a good sign to see you are here and willing to carry on a dialog with the people.

Are you going to fight for Alabama as hard as the citizens of Alabama are fighting to stay alive and not lose their houses or businesses? I am waiting for some real serious effort from you. Please take the situation serious and get some solutions for us!

GOVERNMENT

This morning on Meet the Press, House Republican Leader John Boehner said that “Republicans will stand on principles”. He shared a book that has been seen on several recent televised events this week. Congressman Boehner stated that there are ideas and solutions that the Republicans have proposed and delivered to Democratic leaders. Democratic leaders including the President are saying they will deliver the solutions based on their “principles”.
I respect that both parties think they have the answers but there’s one element left out of this process, the People of America!

I try on an ongoing basis to contact my representative and other elected officials to share my input and offer ideas that I and other smart “non-elected” citizens have conceived. These efforts are met with no results.

The American Citizens deserve to have a say in the process. I don’t think the people of America care to listen to the Partisan Bickering for one more day. If you are loyal to the people you represent you will have their support and protection. If you alienate them, as I and thousands of others feel you are doing, you will lose their trust and loyalty.

Are you a “Representative” willing to work with us, the regular hard-working Americans and listen to our input?

BUDGET
chrisabs Posted 2 years ago
Senator,

You must be aware the American people are not happy about the runaway spending being supported by both Republicans and Democrats. I for one will not support this behavior due to the fact I, and most of my family and friends don't have the ability to write checks we don't have cash to cover.

Senator DeMint sponsored a spending reduction package this week with two items our Elected Officials need to agree to:

1. Ban congressional earmarks for at least one year so lawmakers can begin to break their addiction to pork-barrel spending.
2. Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution forcing Congress to balance the federal budget each year.

Will you support these two solutions that I think are the key first step in solving our problems. Come on now, deep down you don't think that spending even money is going to help us do you?
