What's right or wrong with the Defense Department having less combat troops than before WWII and less ships than pre-WWI? If we 'size' Defense to support only valid Defense missions and functions that support combat troops in the defense of this Nation, then, the budget cuts can be effective in reeducating the National debt.

The Senate voted down the President's notion of the Federal Government augmenting States for more government workers. Why can't you get the Federal Government out of States' business? If any State wants more government workers within the State it should be up to the voters of that State. Neither the States nor the Federal government have the revenue to hire more government workers. Many States have balance budget requirements that prevents them from spending money that they don't have. The Federal Government should also not spend money that they don't have!
