What is your involvement in ensuring that DOJ seeks redress for returning veterans who's previous employers are not reemploying them as required by Public Law? The media is reporting that many veteran cases are not being actively pursued by DOJ.

General: Why does you Department rent grave site space/time to commercial ventures? These are NATIONAL Cemeteries. The recent disrespect by a 'film crew' to WWII vets should tell you that this practice should be prohibited. I am disappointed that you allow this practice to continue. I'm sure you wouldn't want someone walking on your grave. I hoped that you wouldn't want anyone walking on any vet's grave.

MR.SHINSEKI, I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU ONE OF THE SOLUTIONS FOR VETERANS WITH SEVERE NERVE DAMAGES AND PTSD AND VETERAN SUICIDES.IF YOU APPROVE MEDICAL MARIJUANA I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THE SUICIDE RATES AMONG THE VETERANS WILL GO DOWN.THE CURRENT MEDICINES SUCH AS ZOLOFTS AND OTHER MEDS ARE NOT AS SUCCESSFUL AS IF YOU ALLOW THEM TO USE MARIJUANA FOR PTSD AND NERVE DAMGES AND OTHER PAINS...AND ALLOW THE VA AND VA DOCTORS PRESCRIBE IT TO THE VETERANS YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE AND THE SUICIDE RATES DON'T GO DON...WHAT YOU GOT TO LOOSE BUT TO GAIN AND SAVE LIVES OF THE SUICIDAL VETERANS?THANKS

there was a time when the country was not so divided and the people appreciated the military. now with the democrates in office it seems our servicemen and women are treated terrible. i say get rid of the run down hospitals, let the military go to any upscale hospital they choose. their medical bills should be paid in full. they after all have been the ones to keep the likes of congress and senate safe and the majority of those are non appreciative of what these service men and women have done. obama has no respect for our military. i say God Bless our Men and Women. TO HELL WITH OBAMA.

Why is there a separate bureaucracy for Veterans health care? I think we should close down the VA hospitals completely. Let veterans choose any hospital and doctor they want. Veterans deserve the best care they can get. Stop having them travel to hospitals of your choosing. I understand some may need special care for war wounds. If there is demand for that, then the private sector will step up and provide it. We tax payers should pay for this. It is the least we can do for their sacrifice. The private sector will do a better job.

Totally agree with the party about Veterans being able to go anywhere for their care....They have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and they do deserve a complete health care and our respect....My husband is a VietNam veteran so we know first hand about the care out there....Needs a complete about face (if you will). What is this country waiting on????

That goes for Tri-Care as well. I see no reason why all Federal employees shouldn't have the Federal Employee Health Plan. There is a component of military salary for health care; pay that to service members so that they can buy FEHP. VA could also finance the employee share of FEHP.

Hello, At the odd chance that this really gets read I would like an answer to my question. Where are the BRAINS FOR VA EMPLOYEES STORED.all I DID WAS GET A DIVORCE, AND REMARRY. In 2008 I divorced one woman and married another. The VA wanted info on her income by Dec 8th of that year. We took EVERYTHING ASKED FOR to VA Regional office in North Little Rock, or Ft. Root if you prefer. We finally got in to see a rep.

I work in the private health care area. It always astounded me the Doctors that bombed out of the private health care labs and hospitals end in the VA network. Yea, I know "a Doctor is a Doctor" but believe me there are the ones that graduated at the top of their class and ones that were at the bottom of their class. Some that we have had in the hospital lab I work in have been the biggest misfits and were "Fired" and everyone of them ended up in the VA hospital system. Some have been passed though in their schools because of needs, gender or race. Our Vets deserve better than this!

She said that it was not her job but she would try to help, to bad she was stupid. This time they said no paper work. Long story short they said I owe almost $10,000 Because of a mistake that they made. If your people can't get it right FIRE THEIR ASSES and find one who can. I have come to DESPISE THE VA. YOU PEOPLE ARE THE CROOKEDEST BUNCH OF IDIOTS I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. GET IT RIGHT OR JUST FIRE THEM ALL.

Could you integrate state-side military hospital into the VA system? Veterans use military hospitals on a space available basis, why not turn this around and provide a single health care system in the USA?

why does the Va fight giving benefits and waste thier time and lives when they have access to all the documentation. It is ridiculous how the VA strings veterans out. My husband was 3 1/2 years in vietnam and served 20 years . he was an airborne ranger. that is all the proof he needs with the medical records you have. You know he was in that stuff! He is 17 years in remission from All leukemia. That is a B cell leukemia. You add one little thing every few years. the National Academy of sciences is a drag on cop out! make us beg and congress votes themselves raises in the hundred thousands .

Rod, I agree! Let's find out if Secretary Shinseki supports any cuts to the VA! My father served and now is suffering through the process of dealing with cancer through the VA! If there are many more cuts the next appointment he gets may be 2 years from now not the usual 3 months he has to wait.
