It's only politics that is preventing the legalization of marijuana. Our Country needs additional revenue sources so let's legalize it.

Everyone is worried about being politically correct... it will make dollars so it must make sense

I agree that marijuana needs to be legalized, not because it would generate revenue but because government has no right to tell American citizens what we can do behind closed doors. Drug prohibition has nothing to do with protecting us from the evils of drugs and everything to do with controlling us. Legalization, even if it wasn't taxed to provide revenue, would save us the billions of dollars we spend fighting a drug war we can't win, not to mention the fact that it would do more to curb cartel violence than anything else we could possibly do, and make it less accessible to kids.

Lets play sterotypes.

How many "Pot heads" Do you see doing nothing with there lives? Doing nothing but wasting time and smoking? How many "pot heads" do you see failing classes, getting in trouble for non marijuana affiliated charges?

The answer is a lot more than non-smokers. It is a stepping stone drug, and should not be legalized.

What Rep. Paul is saying is that it SHOULD NOT be up to the fed. govt. Alcohol is a gateway drug as well and we all know about prohibition. I don't advocate smoking pot but it isn't a federal problem. He is showing us how to shrink fed. govt. by putting the laws in the hands of the states and "The People". At the state level the people vote on what we want legal or not rather than the govt. ramming thru what they think is "best" for us. Wake up and look around, they are taking our freedoms & here is a man who isn't like all of the other politicians. Thank you Rep. Paul for standing up!

My druggy neighbors, pushing drugs, stealing & selling here in the neighborhood, because unable and unwilling to hold a job, are a sign that lawlessness in nations like U. S. and Mexico is not a good thing. President Abraham Lincoln ran on a platform to stop lawlessness. President George Washington and President James Madison said if Americaever stops being a moral nation, she will fall.

Here's a great idea:
There is a plan floating around Washington to cut the budget 1% each year for EIGHT years and then institute a balanced budget Constitutional Ammendment.
How about cutting the budget 8% for ONE year... That way, it will all be done under this watch so that if it doesn't happen, we will know who to tar and feather!

Foreign Policy

Rep. Paul, I'm a Libertarian and I like almost all things you stand for, except your foreign policy. Why do you continue to espouse isolationism for the U.S.? This is not the 1950's anymore. We have to be involved in global politics.

Would you like a foreign presence here in America telling us what we can do, where we can go, what time to be off the streets? Because that is what we are doing all over the world and we reap a lot of negativity from it. We can have bases in our allies countries to be on the ready, but to force our agenda on them isn't right. What if the tables were turned and Sharia Law was being forced unto us? It is happening in many places and they are trying to force it here. Google Blowback and read/see how we are paying for our intrusion into other countries.

I want to know what you are high on? Eliminate the IRS? It would be great, dream on. Why get out of Afghanistan? Let's see the reaction to the Bin Laden death first. Gold standard! Where have you been, that's not going to slow the debt. We need someone to publish all the good ol' boy programs and let everyone see exactly where the pork is being spent.

You seem to be the only sane voice, I hope you win the nomination, we have been a "lesser of 2 evils" tug of war for too long, what we need is a man with experience and integrity to guide us back to the tenets of our Constitution, and i know that is the basis of your entire platform. I hope the days of being slowly stripped of our personal liberties while gov't spending bankrupts us will soon be in the past.

Do you have any affiliation with the BILDERBURG Group, Trilateral Commission or Council on Foreign Relations? I know a man of your means knows that this group is comprised of the 125 wealthiest people in the world who use presidents like puppets. There has not been a president since JFK, that has not had to deal with these groups.

I heard you & others have gotten "slack" on your views on Amnesty and fighting the illegal battle. With the death of OBL, America is in danger of terrorist attacks at any time. We need our boarders secured !! And we need someone that will fight "The Dream Act" NO AMNESTY..PERIOD !!

Why don't you want to see the military achieve victory in Iraq and Afghanistan? Why must you be so anti-military? Why don't you get the queers out of the military first?

Tammie SargentHanthorn Posted 1 month ago
He is not anti-military. He is a veteran himself and he has a large military backing, more than any of the others running combined! This man has been on target for 30 years, unwavering in his beliefs. He is made up of the same stuff as our founding fathers. Read their quotes and listen to Rep. Paul. Obama knows the Constitution and he is destroying it. Ron Paul is trying to save it. Don't listen to the liberal media and how they spin Paul's views. This man LOVES our country not politics and power!
